Not all repair shops are created equal. Here's a practical checklist drawn from what distinguishes a shop you can trust from one you'll regret using.

The review test

Go to Google Maps and search the shop name. Look at reviews from the past 90 days, not just the overall score. Sort by "Newest." A shop with a 4.8 rating that hasn't had a review in 8 months is a different proposition from one with fresh reviews coming in weekly. Consistent recent reviews signal an active, accountable business.
